You have been a member for 15 years. What are the top three things that have kept you at DSF?
I enjoy the culture at DSF—it feels like everybody knows your name, and it’s a judgement-free atmosphere. It’s also a well-maintained facility—you can tell there is a lot of pride in keeping the place clean and updated. Finally, I appreciate the friendly and knowledgeable staff.
How have your fitness goals changed over the years?
My fitness goals have changed from packing on as much muscle mass as possible to simply maintaining an active lifestyle as I advance in age.
What keeps you motivated to continue leading a healthy lifestyle and how has DSF supported you?
My motivation to continue leading a healthy lifestyle is that I have roughly 4-5 years until retirement. I simply cannot think of a better way of spending my golden years motivating other silver-sneaker retirees that aging can be done gracefully simply by remaining active.
If you could go back to when you were 25 years old, what are three fitness tips you would tell yourself?
I would tell myself that working out 24/7 is not necessary in maintaining a sculpted physique. I also should probably consider another primary carbohydrate choice other than alcohol. And finally, I would tell myself to get plenty of rest.
