Ingredients:
- 6 bell peppers
- 1/2 pound lean ground beef
- 1/2 pound Italian sausage
- A small onion, diced
- 15-ounch can of tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup white rice, cooked
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Cut off the tops of the bell peppers and clear the inside of the seeds and membranes. Carve out jack-o'-lantern face or desired design in the side of the pepper.
- Boil water in a large pot. Add peppers to water and cook for five minutes.
- In a large skillet fry ground beef, sausage, and onion on medium-high heat. Drain any excess grease.
- Add tomato sauce, garlic, rice, Worcestershire sauce, and onion powder to skillet and mix into meat and onion. Season with salt and pepper.
- Spoon mixture into bell peppers.
- Place peppers into an ungreased dish. Cook in the oven for 25 minutes. Top peppers with shredded cheese and cook for an additional 5-10 minutes. Let stand one minute before serving.
